CHILD HAVEN, A CRISIS NURSERY

MISSION:

Child Haven is a program of Arizona’s Children Association: Protecting Children, Preserving Families since 1912.

AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION:

Child Haven, a member of Arizona's Children Association family of agencies, is a crisis nursery for young children in Yavapai County whose families are facing extreme difficulties. Many times life circumstances can overwhelm parents and place children at risk.

Child Haven's goal is to provide a place for families to turn to ensuring children are safe and families receive the support they need. It provides free, overnight shelter care. All of the children stay in the homes of volunteer licensed or certified Child Haven host families, and almost all of them are referred by their own families. It is the only program of its kind in Arizona.

Child Haven host families care for children ages birth to six, and their older siblings up to age ten. The typical stay is one to three days, with arrangements made for extended stays on a case by case basis. Child Haven helps families for any number of reasons such as stress, illness, homelessness, respite or crisis.
Child Haven also offers a variety of other services to support families in need including information and referral; free clothing room, diapers and formula; and intensive case management services for families in crisis.

If you are a parent, grandparent or anyone raising children and you find you need help, please contact Child Haven. Child Haven volunteer host families are always needed and welcomed. For more information on becoming a Child Haven host family or volunteer, contact Child Haven.
