PRESCOTT CENTER FOR THE ARTS (formerly Prescott Fine Arts Association)

MISSION:

The mission of the Prescott Center for the Arts is to create opportunities for the greater community to engage in and experience all facets of the arts.

AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION:

Prescott Center for the Arts is a theatrical producing community theatre and visual arts exhibition gallery for all ages. Specifically for youth: PCA produces two fully staged family theatre productions performed mainly by youth. The shows are performed for area schools and the general public. Through the Youth Scholarship Program, PCA makes cash awards to middle and high school students in music, voice, jazz, musical theatre, drama and visual arts. There is a three week exhibit of the visual arts in our main gallery. The Young Playwrights Festival now takes submissions from all of the five northern counties in Arizona of original plays (10 page limit)  open to all students grades K–12, regardless of how they attend school. The SW counties will be included in the 14 - 15 Season, and will go state-wide in the 15 - 16 Season. The Summer Youth Theatre Program (SYTP) offers several two-week theatrical workshops for ages 6–18 as well as the Teen Summer Stock Ensemble program, an intensive theatrical endeavor for ages 15–22. Participants perform in a fully staged musical including tech work. From September – May, PCA offers ongoing classes and workshops in theatre and visual arts including the PCA Youth Singers for grades 3–6. Financial Aid is available for classes and SYTP.
