NEW HORIZONS DISABILITY EMPOWERMENT CENTER (previously New Horizons Independent Living Center)

AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION:  Core services include: Independent Living Skills (training in home management, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, etc.); Information and Referral (consumer specific one-on-one assistance for residents of Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo and Yavapai counties); Peer Mentoring (one-on-one or support group interaction with an experienced peer mentor); Advocacy (assistance and empowerment in the art of the removal of social, architectural, physical, attitudinal and employment barriers to full community integration); Computer Class held Tuesday mornings from 10am to noon; Transportation - wheelchair accessible vans are available to serve people with disabilities, low income and seniors for transportation needs (work or school, appointments, shopping, social activities) Monday - Friday. Call 775-8870 at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride. Our office is a fragrance-free facility, as are our vans.
