MISSION: Buena Vista Children’s Services is a community-based nonprofit organization that designs, develops and implements model programs for children. Programs address emerging needs in the areas of child care, education, parenting, special needs, resource and referral. Buena Vista Children’s Services fosters innovative programs and leadership to enhance the quality of life for children in Yavapai, Navajo and Apache Counties. AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION: Discovery Connection Out-of-School Program: Provides quality out-of-school time programs to children and youth in the Verde Valley utilizing a Multiple Intelligence based integrated curriculum. DES Certified Child Care Home Providers: Department of Economic Security – Child Care Administration – Child Care Recruitment and Study in Yavapai County (2000-present) and Navajo and Apache Counties (2010-present), and Coconino and Gila Counties (2016-present) recruits and provides technical assistance to potential as well as seasoned home child care providers. This library is free and open to the public. /Infant/ Toddler and Child Care Training Programs (ITTP and CCTP): Providing Infant and Toddler and Child Care training and technical assistance to centers and home based family child care providers in Yavapai, Coconino, Apache and Navajo counties. Funded by DES, utilizes the infant & toddler curriculum from The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL), the Pyramid Model including a tiered model of promotion, prevention and intervention and (for Directors) the Directors Toolbox, plus many others.
