BOYS TO MEN MENTORING NETWORK

MISSION: We promote fundamental positive change in the lives of teen-age boys, their families, their communities and our volunteer mentors by harnessing the power of the rite of passage.  AGENCY SELF-DESCRIPTION: Boys to Men Mentoring Network is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization of men dedicated to helping guide boys 13-19 through their passage to manhood. We do this by providing weekend rites of passage, long-term group mentoring, school-based mentoring and follow-up support with participating families.  Weekend mentoring activities include athletics, rock climbing, hiking, service projects, arts projects, multi-day wilderness trips, and leadership development.  In all our programs we provide boys with mentoring and modeling so that they learn integrity, accountability, compassion and respect. We help boys develop responsibility, emotional resilience and guide them toward healthy manhood. We maintain a very high staff to boy ratio - this ratio keeps everything safe and promotes healthy behaviors and practiced maturity.  Founded in 1996, there are now 32 Centers around the world. The Prescott Area Center of North Central AZ was formed in the fall of 2008 and produces three Rites of Passage Adventure Weekends per year in March, June and September. Boys to Men is in partnership with Yavapai Big Brothers/ Big Sisters to provides the weekend and ongoing group mentoring for unmatched Littles who are teenage boys.
